Honddu’s debut cut, ‘The Gallop of Love’
Blending moving melodies with a depth of idiosyncratic textures
Holly Müller and David Neale, a neuro-divergent couple who reside by the river Honddu, their namesake, have seemingly come out of nowhere — however, ahead of their debut release, were refining their sound with producer, JT (Ya Yonder, Islet). Describing their idiosyncratic sound as “compelling and emotional; sometimes delicate, sometimes full of power,” Honddu share a similar sonic palette of Jungle and Låpsley, and take inspiration from the likes of Jenny Hval, PJ Harvey, and Broadcast.
Anticipating that their debut single is cut from a wider project, the Aberhonddu-based duo blend moving melodies with a depth of textures, and ‘The Gallop of Love’, warps those warm, woozy sounds via a 90s tape machine, leaving us wanting more.
