Mix Mis Hydref: FRMAND

Rising electronic artist FRMAND shares his personal journey through house, bassline and techno as he re-visits a selection of tracks that “bring back a lot of emotion”.

Llangrannog-based electronic artist FRMAND has only a handful of tracks to his name but his appetite for joyous rhythms is both perpetual and palpable. Showcasing his love for buoyant dance beats via his growing collection of remixes - including tracks from Yws Gwynedd, MABLi and Band Pres Llareggub - Gwyn, the face behind the project, admits that his overriding ambition is to rework tracks from a myriad of genres. Latest tracks ‘Heuldy’ and ‘Gwahaniaeth’, featuring Mali Hâf and jardinio, do just that and demonstrate FRMAND’s impulse to experiment.

Over the course of 55 minutes, FRMAND takes us on his progressive journey through music — from the “old-school bangers” of Avicii and Redlight, to the infectious, raw energy of techno-pair Mall Grab and KETTAMA. “I’ve always listened to different genres and styles, depending on how I’m feeling” he reflects. “Selecting these tracks has brought back a lot of emotions — from low points in my life to higher points. I hope you’ll enjoy the mix as much as I do”.
