Medeni unveils debut single: ‘i'm over you’

Cardigan-born London-based pop artist Medeni shares first taste of upcoming EP ‘Late Twenties’

Having previously released music as ELA, Medeni is the moniker and middle name of rising pop artist, Ela Hughes. Admitting at the start of the year that she’s ready to “dive in with a brand new name and a fearless new attitude,” Medeni’s new chapter was launched on 22 September through the exhilarating pop disruptor, ‘i’m over you’.

Produced by the acclaimed Ian Barter, known for his work with Paloma Faith and Amy Winehouse, 'i'm over you' offers a fresh perspective on freedom and self-discovery via a slice of warm, sunkissed power-pop. The singer-songwriter adds: “Breakups are never easy, but I think you grow so much from them as a person and this is what this song is all about.”

Set for release in early 2024, the forthcoming EP promises to be a musical journey through Medeni's late twenties — exploring themes that stretch from heartbreak to self-reconnection — woven together by five compelling tracks. As expressed by Medeni: “The EP is a raw and honest portrayal of the emotional highs and lows that come with this pivotal stage in life. Being in your late twenties is a confusing time, so I thought I’d write it down and share my experiences with the world.”

With her second single ‘righting wrongs’ set to drop 3 November, press play on Medeni’n debut track here:
